Luis & Taijia // Married // Blum, TX

Where do I even begin? Taijia and Luis, Luis and Taijia.

Taijia is my husband's little cousin, so obviously after being together with him for 11 years now I have seen her grow. I've seen her ups and downs so when Luis came into the picture I was so happy to finally see her happy! They balance each other so well!

When they got engaged Taijia was hesitant to ask me to photograph their day because they wanted family to enjoy themselves. luckily she changed her mind because their day was absolutely beautiful.....and HOT! Texas humidity is no joke (be quiet Florida)

The wedding was at the beautiful Stonebridge Wedding Venue in Blum, Texas. It was acres upon acres right on the water of the Nolan River, just a short drive from Fort Worth, Texas. They are named after the beautiful Stonebridge that crosses the river. The venue is home to one of the top 10 largest live oak trees in the state of Texas.

The pair along with their wedding party got ready in a charming little cottage on the property, it had the most beautiful light which was perfect for details. this is not your average wedding. Everyone in the bridal party wore VANS because Luis and Taijia are rock and roll! <3 Taijia even wore her custom (made by her)) gauged dangle earrings which paired nicely with her fire engine red hair, I loved it!

As I mentioned before, they met up in front of the beautiful live oak tree, in front of their two kids and their family. each read off the most beautiful vows finishing it all off with a pinky promise and their first kiss!

When the party started they entered via staircase in the beautiful reception hall and went strait down to their first dance. the first dance was a song by Taijia's Grampy who had just passed a few months ago. What more perfect way to honor her grandfather than with a dance to one of his songs? Finally it was TACO TIME served via food truck by Taqueria Juarez. omg it was delicious! But did you try the horchata?!?!?

The whole thing came to a close with a beautiful sparkler exit! I hope you enjoy this glimpse into their beautiful day! I am so honored to have been their photographer!

Laura // Senior // Odessa, TX

So here we are on year two of my senior giveaway! This project is so close to my heart and this year I had more entries, and of course the more entries the harder it is to choose one of these kids! This year my winner is a 2018 Senior from Permian High School! MOJO!! THATS MY SCHOOL, THATS MY SCHOOL! Now this young lady actually nominated HERSELF, which of course I asked people to nominate kids they knew but I think thats also one thing that made her stand out to me. She is a Go-Getter, a girl after my heart! Girl Boss!! She told me she plans on attending college here in Odessa so major in Biology, she plans on being a doctor some day.  But here is what she had to say.

"Hello, Mrs. Stone! My name is Laura Ramos and I am emailing you as an entry to the free senior session! I am a senior at Permian and am in the top 5% of my class. It makes me so happy to know that you are doing this. Even if I do not win, I hope that it goes to someone who really needs the help. I work while taking classes at Permian and Odessa College. I hope to be a doctor someday  and be able to relieve my mom of the financial issues that she stresses about. My mom is struggling to find a photographer that is not too expensive. My dad passed away last year and it hasn’t been easy for us. I am trying to have a graduation party and we hope to get enough financial help to make it possible. It would be amazing to win this giveaway as your work is amazing! Thank you so much again, ma’am."

Not only is she smart and beautiful but she is also a hard worker! Being 1 of 6 girls and working to make her dreams come true! Im glad I chose this young lady!

Manny & Amarisa // Married // Odessa, TX

OK so these two were awesome! Their whole wedding was awesome! Not because of the materialistic things being beautiful but because of the people! I have never witnessed a wedding where God was so present! Amarisa's girls were so involved from putting on her dress, her jewelry and even praying for their marriage. Same went for the guys, I laughed as they all stood around trying to figure out how they wanted to fold their pocket squares.

They were married at New Life Chapel here in Odessa in front of a full congregation that was made up of family and close friends. The pastor told the story on how this union came to be, there were many laughs and many tears.

Now in all my years of photographing weddings, I have never cried! Ive been close but never actually cried. That changed at their reception. Amarisa was not only walked down the isle by her son but also danced with him, as soon as he started crying I was done for! I thought that was it until Manny danced with both of Amarisa's girls the tears just kept pouring out. After that the party was none stop!

Thank you Manny and Amarisa for choosing me to capture this very special day in falls life!

JD & Jordan // Engaged // Marfa, TX

So I met Jordan through Tiffany Reid, she brought her to me because she is her planner (she's a fantastic wedding planner if you're looking for one!) Jordan came over and we hit it off right away! She told me they were planning a Cinco de Mayo wedding so I knew right away that they were my type of client! We spoke a bit about their wedding and we talked about having their engagement photos done later in the year or at the beginning of 2018! Fast forward a few months and she texts me and lets me know she would like to do them in Marfa Texas so of course I said yes!! If you've been to Marfa you know that its what dreams are made of!

So off we went my husband and I to Marfa to meet these two. I had yet to meet JD so I had no idea what to expect, well he was just as fun as Jordan, THANK GOD!!! We drove around scouting for locations and I learned a bit more about them. When we started shooting I couldn't help but notice the love they have for each other. They told me about how they met and they spoke about their son <3

We shot around downtown Marfa and then headed towards the awesome campground of El Cosmico. It was so cool to see the famous tee pees in person! I still didn't get to see the pink trailer, maybe next time. As we drove some more I told them about me wishing I could live the nomadic life with my two loves but also knowing im too high maintenance for that haha! We then ended the session on an abandoned road with the sun barely peeking over the horizon producing some of my favorite shots from the session!  I can go on and on about how much I love them and their photos but check them out for yourself!

Also a special thanks to Hotel Saint George for letting my husband and I crash there again! If your ever in Marfa thats the place to stay!
